Almost as famous as Cute as a Button, Bobbing for Baubles is an Essie classic and in my list of top five favorite nail polishes ever. This was the polish that launched my obsession with dark blue nails, and is what I reach for every time I get overwhelmed by my vast polish collection and don't know what to wear. I think I went so long without blogging about it because I loved it so much that I assumed I already had!
You might have heard this hailed as a phenomenal blue nail polish, and I completely agree. A slightly dusky deep navy blue in a classic creme finish, Bobbing for Baubles is one of those season-less shades that you just can't go wrong with.
Beautifully opaque in two coats, Bobbing for Baubles has a lovely shiny finish that makes the blue look extra clean, but I just can't get over the way this chips. It doesn't chip terribly, but it's extremely rare for my nail polish (especially Essie ones) to chip at all, so the small chinks I get with this color are incredibly frustrating. I've said before that all my favorite nail polishes tend to have shoddy formulas, and this is just more proof.
Still, if you think those chips will stop me from wearing this color, you didn't quite pick up on how much I adore this shade!
I'm sorry I skipped a post (My Favorite Drugstore Base Products (Part 2): Concealers) this week, but I've had a nasty cold and also had just gotten my hands on a Hard Candy concealer I'd like to keep testing. I know my blogging schedule has been off lately, but I have a lot of involved assignments, tasks and projects on my plate right now which are proving incredibly time-consuming and complicated. It's a lot to juggle, and as they've just started to take off, I haven't quite figured out my schedule and hit my stride with staying on top of everything.
Hopefully, I'll be back on track next week, with a whole bunch of exciting posts, starting with a jam-packed September Favorites and My Favorite Drugstore Concealers!
