VICHY Acne Prone 3-in-1 Cleanser/Scrub/Mask: I needed a new cleanser and have been curious about VICHY products for a while, so this was a perfect opportunity. I've been using it for over a week now and really like it so far, though it does remind me of the Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask product. Same talent for cutting through grease and very similar moussey but not creamy consistency, though the VICHY smells far better!
VICHY 24 Hour deodorant: You know from this post that I use only aluminum-free deodorants, and I can't believe this has escaped my notice for so long! This particular one is especially interesting, as it contains no parabens, aluminum salts, or fragrance--sort of the mother of all deodorants for people with sensitive skin. Review to come!
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush: I was able to make a quick trip to Ulta, and was thrilled to see that they had the Real Techniques brushes in stock. The blush and powder brushes are some of my absolute favorites (post), but I wanted another foundation buffing brush for days when my Sigma F80 is dirty and I've completely forgotten/been too lazy to wash it. Enter the Expert Face brush! No idea how this compares to their Buffing or Stippling brushes, so if you've tried those, let me know.
|Left: Barely Beige, Right: Rich Mahogany|
Maybelline Limited Edition Color Tattoos: Why the most beautiful colors of their collection are limited edition is beyond me, but I'm thrilled I snapped these up while I had the chance. Bad to the Bronze is the cornerstone of my everyday eye makeup (post), though Barely Beige just might be my favorite now. Rich Mahogany is stunning too, of course, but that's more of a nighttime color for me, whereas Barely Beige is perfect for day-to-day. Get these while you can!
|Barely Beige (sloppily) all over, with Twilight Night along the lash line|
Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Twilight Night Shimmer Ink: You know how much I've been drooling over this product, and I love it even more than I thought I would. This is my first Bobbi Brown liner, and so far it's on par with its reputation--clean, incredibly easy application, no smudging or flaking, and none of it comes off on my eyelash curler! This color in particular is beyond beautiful--a gorgeous blueish charcoal with shimmer, so it's dark enough to define but not deep enough to compete with my eyelashes.
Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil: Hair oils are likely my favorite hair product (apart from maybe dry shampoo) so between my obsession and the attention this was getting on Into the Gloss, it was only a matter of time before I picked it up. Again, it's still too early for a review, but over a week of use and I'm already calling it my favorite hair oil. I'm all about softness when it comes to my hair, which this product delivers like no other! You'll hear more on this soon!
I've also been doing some general miscellaneous drugstore shopping lately, so I'll just file that all under one category.
Nivea A Kiss of Olive Oil and Lemon Lip Balm: First of all, Nivea, you missed a prime marketing opportunity here! Think how well "A Kiss of Mediterranean" would have sold =)! Naming aside, this is your basic moisturizing lip balm, but with a surprisingly sophisticated jasmine scent (really, it smells nothing like olive oil/lemon). I actually prefer the floral quality, as it makes my $3 lip balm feel a little more expensive!
Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Dry Shampoo: The last one I needed for my upcoming drugstore dry shampoo post. I only bought it a few hours ago, so you'll have to wait for that post to see how it does.
Goody Doublewear Ponytailer/Bracelet: I decided that after internally mocking these over-marketed hair ties, I ought to try them out before judging. Verdict has not yet been reached!
Revlon Brow Fantasy in Dark Brown: My new favorite brow product--thank you, TiffanyD for raving about this endlessly! I'm planning a post on drugstore eyebrow products, so you'll hear all about this soon as well. For now, just know that the color selection could be improved, but it's absolutely genius.
Milani Brow Tip Pen: I believe this is the first liquid brow pen I've seen at the drugstore, which warranted the purchase. I've actually never even used a liquid pen on my brows before, so I'm looking forward to trying this, especially as I have a feeling it'll be more long-wearing than pencil.
Suave Dry Conditioner: So incredibly bizarre that I must try it out for myself! Haven't used it yet, but am presently skeptical/a little scared of potential results.
I think I've gone through my allotted beauty budget, so I'll be happily shopping my stash for a while!
You can expect to see reviews on all of these products in coming weeks, but if there's anything you're particularly interested in hearing about, just leave a comment!
Have a wonderful first week of September!
