NOTW: Orly Sea Gurl

Sunday, January 15, 2012

This was one of those polishes that I didn't particularly want to wear, but I had never used it before so I felt a certain sense of obligation. (You know when you want to wear something new but you know you really should pull out something you've already had for a while?) In the bottle, it doesn't look like much--a dull, dark metallic gray that isn't particularly exciting, especially amongst my extensive stash of silvers. On my nails, though, it's much prettier and a lot more unusual than your standard silver-gray foil. Sea Gurl is actually a darkened shimmery charcoal that felt perfect for this frigid, slightly snowy week we've been having. I believe it's similar to Butter London's Chimney Sweep, only that may be slightly darker.

In other beauty-related news, guess what I finally found yesterday? I've heard good things about the Milani baked blushes for ages, but I'd never been able to find them! I've tried their regular minerals blush before but that oxidized a bit on me and didn't hold up at all throughout the day. I finally spotted these in Walgreens and of course, bought two.

The gold veining is gorgeous, but wears off as you use the product.

Rose D'Oro is on the left, and Berry Amore on the right. I was hoping they'd also stock Luminoso and Corallina, but maybe I'll have better luck next time.

Sorry this post was so short, but I'm feeling a bit under the weather--it just wouldn't be winter without me coming down with the sniffles.

That It Just Didn't Work Out Between Us post will be up next! I mean it this time!

Hope everyone has a great week!
