Can't Get Enough: 10/11

Monday, October 10, 2011

I know I promised to do a post on my bridesmaid makeup next, but in all honesty, I did pretty much the exact same look but with false demi lashes, so there really isn't anything to blog about. Between my hair appointment and trying to get all my stuff together, I didn't have the time to think too much about my makeup. I'll be more than happy to put up pictures of the bride and reception, though, if anyone would like to see them.

In any case, here are some things that I've been absolutely obsessed with lately.

My new watch! I've been wearing a watch day in and day out since I was about 13 because being late is one of my biggest pet peeves. I haven't had a watch this big since the days of my Baby G (remember those?), but I love this size because it elevates my normally boring timepiece into a more stylish accessory!

Candles! As you might have noticed from various pictures, I've been burning candles just about non-stop lately. This habit is pretty much exclusive to fall/winter--two seasons that demand the burning of delicious snuggly scents, if you ask me. I get mine at Bath and Body Works (the Slatkin and Co ones) but wait until they're on sale for 2 for $20--there's no reason to pay for them at full price!

Swatching! I've been good about not buying any more nail polish, so I've turned to my huge stash of colors to make sure they're all getting used. To make it easier for me to choose a shade, I swatched all my polishes on plain copy paper and wrote the name next to it--a sort of DIY/cheap version of those nail polish swatch wheels.

Modern Family! I know I'm so late on this, but it's such a funny show--I can't believe I've never watched it before now. I'm actually very behind as I've just finished season 1, but since Glee won't be back until November, I've got plenty of time to catch up!

Bow ring! I've had this for a few months now, but lately I haven't been able to take it off. It's just the perfect everyday accessory--dainty and cute!

A return to reading! I'm ashamed to say that I don't read as much as I used to, but recently I've been back into my usual routine of reading in bed for an hour or two before falling asleep. Here are a few that I've been enjoying lately: The Help is new, Before Night Falls is technically for school (but I love it nonetheless) and I'm a re-reader so A Thousand Splendid Suns is being revisited.

Dark chocolate roasted pistachio toffee! My cousin is a Trader Joe's groupie (you can read her blog post on that here) and it was through her that I originally discovered my usual snack, chocolate covered sunflower seeds. But a few weeks ago, I stumbled across these right next to where my seeds were, and it was love at first bite. They're more of a dessert than a snack, but the combination of butter, caramel and toasted nuttiness just can't be beat!

My little cousins! I'm always obsessed with these munchkins, but I've gotten to see them a lot lately for even more cousin bonding time! How cute are those faces?!

Posts on a moisturizer and a mascara coming up next, and a tremendously exciting announcement I can't wait to make!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week, and Happy 100th Birthday, Taiwan!

Here's to many more!

*P.S., In case you couldn't tell, this new Blogger setup is really confusing me. Apologies for the discrepancies until I can get it all worked out!*

  2. all the shows i stream are from watchseries.eu

quality isn't fabulous, but it's quick, easy to use and doesnt damage my computer.

plus it's how ive watched 6 seasons of how i met your mother, so i'm somewhat attached to their site.

    Thanks-here's the link! http://www.katespade.com/designer-jewelry/designer-rings/love-notes-bow-ring/WBRU3003,default,pd.html?dwvar_WBRU3003_color=711&start=14&cgid=jewelry-rings

I bought it a few months ago, and I'm pretty sure it was around $30 then so I don't know why it's more expensive now...

    PS, that's a fantastic saying!
