Cheapie but Goodie: Almay Makeup Eraser Sticks

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

I just did a post of the beauty products I carry with me for touch-ups during the day, and if I had know about these little wonder sticks sooner, they would totally have been included. It's very common for women to carry Q-tips on them to clean up any make-up smudges (especially crucial for the day-to-night crowd!) so how this product hasn't been invented before is beyond me.

This is one of those beautifully simple but genius ideas that I really think belongs in every woman's purse--Almay, for a mere $6 gives you a plastic case of 24 Q-tips, each filled with an oil-free makeup remover. Some people will soak dry cotton buds in remover for on the go, but I've tried that before (prom night) and it gets messy and soggy which is where the real genius of Almay's sticks come in.

The makeup remover is actually stored in the plastic stick of the Q-tip, so when you snap off the head where the purple line is, the fluid releases and saturates the other cotton head. It's just the perfect amount of remover to get it completely moistened but not dripping for really clean touching up. The liquid product isn't oily in the slightest, but it helps to have the dry snapped bud to wipe away any residue before reapplying makeup.

And of course, the neat little plastic case keeps everything nice and tidy, and it's small enough to fit into all but the very tiniest of clutches! I don't hear too much about Almay products, but they hit it out of the park with this one--I absolutely cannot fault it.

Eyebrow threading post (probably) coming up next! I know I keep putting it off, but that subject is a huge passion of mine and I really want it to be perfect!

I'm off to change into my Glee shirt (LOL) in preparation of tonight's season premiere!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying their week!

(P.S. Fellow Glee--or Kurt and Blaine--fans need to watch this video. Here's the link!)
