Cheapie but Goodie: Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Pore Scrub

I picked this product up a few months ago, in the midst of a very short-lived organic, all natural kick and was pleasantly surprised with it.

All the detoxifying promises on the front had me so excited to try this product, and I'm really glad I did because I think it's a fairly unusual find. As a cleanser, it's nothing to write home about--it's gel based, non-drying, and gets the job done, but it's nothing particularly special. It's actually the exfoliating particles within the cleansing fluid that make this so unusual. Unlike every other facial scrub I've ever tried, these exfoliant bits are not at all scratchy or rough--as though the little nubs are smoothed or rounded over like beads. It seems like a minor difference, but you can really feel it while scrubbing your face. In my experience with facial scrubs, washing my face too quickly actually hurts but this Neutrogena one couldn't be uncomfortable to use if it tried.

Obviously, then, if you like a really gritty scrub to feel properly exfoliated, this won't be the right product for you, but it would be great for those with sensitive skin. I really think the exfoliant beads are gentle enough to even use this cleanser everyday, if that's how you wanted to do it.

I'm actually using this guy quite a bit at the moment, as it makes for a perfect summertime skincare treat! The cucumber/plant-like smell is really nice for these hot, muggy days and I feel like my skin always looks better after a good scrub, though that may just be the placebo effect.

Give it a whirl, folks! And even if you don't like it, you're only out $8!
