Cheapie but Goodie: Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Glosses

Saturday, May 21, 2011

It seems that I can't troll through a drugstore for the perfectly innocent need for toothpaste without leaving with some lip gloss. I don't know what it is--maybe it's the way all those lovely lip products are lined up, calling my name--but I just can't resist a cute new gloss for a cheap price.

And luckily for me, (and you!), it was through this silly bit of frivolity that I discovered the Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Glosses. These just might be some of the most impressive lip glosses I've encountered in my life--and they come in at about $8 apiece!

These guys are minimally sticky, well-pigmented in color payoff, and wear well--usually for about 3 hours on me. That might not seem like a very long time, but the thicker the product (thicker=stickier), the longer it wears on your lips. Aside from their texture, I also love their smoothness and the color variation the range provides.

It seems they only sell about ten shades of the Super Lustrous gloss, but there's really a color for everyone. Pink Pop is a vibrant, creamy pink, Nude Lustre a peachy nude, and the wine-colored Pearl Plum happens to be my favorite fall lip gloss. Those are the only colors I own, but I've also seen Foiled (a metallic rose gold number) and Coral Reef (a peachy-orange hue).

Each lip gloss I own has a different scent--fairly minimal and not at all offensive. A far cry from that unpleasant lipsticky smell so many glosses have (I'm looking at you, NARS!).

Basically, there's not a single complaint I have with these Super Lustrous lip glosses. And, of course, Revlon doesn't test on animals, so you can pick one of these lippies up with a clear conscience.

I'm running low on Kleenex at the moment so I'm sure a trip to Duane Reade is in order. I wonder what I'll discover this time?
